Romania had thought carefully at what he should say next. He was ten steps ahead with his replies and way of talking, something he is good at but never really puts the skill to good use. He honestly couldn’t imagine rejecting her, nor did he want to do such a thing. He knew that she had feelings for him, but he wanted her all to himself. He held her close to him, showing her that he cared. Showing that he wouldn’t just drop everything and leave her for granted. He laughed, making sure she didn’t fall before tickling her sides some more. “You do~?” He kept tickling her before scooping her into his lap. His arms wrapped around her, kissing her cheek quickly. “So, you wouldn’t mind being my girlfriend~?”
“So, you wouldn’t mind being my girlfriend~?”
Liechtenstein stared at Romania with wide eyes, not quite sure if she had heard him right. His girlfriend? Had he really just said that? She wasn’t quite sure how to react; she knew crying like a baby was probably out of the question, not to mention probably inappropriate. She settled on grabbing a hold of Romania’s shirt once again, as he hadn’t reacted poorly to that before.
“I-I…” Liechtenstein wasn’t quite sure how to answer Romania: she didn’t want to sound desperate, but she also didn’t know how to act nonchalant. This was something that had never happened to her before, and she was completely lost on what was appropriate or not. “I-I would really like that…” She managed to stutter out, smiling brightly into his shirt as she did so. “I-I really would like to be your g-girlfriend…”
Before he knew it, Liechtenstein was latched onto him. It took him a bit to register it all, but eventually smiled and slowly wrapped his arms around her. “That’s good…but…” He wanted to be with her so badly, but he didn’t want to be a rebound. He had no idea what she felt for Iceland, or even if she was really over him. “You need to work on being less obvious, but that is a discussion for a later date.” He grinned, pushing all negative thoughts aside. Lilli was practically his, and he was happy about this.He looked down at her, not really wanting her to let go. “I don’t hate you.” he blushed, “What I feel from you is far from hate…” He grinned, poking her sides, “But…..” wanting to lighten the mood, “You like me, don’t you~?” He said in a teasing manner, starting to tickle her sides.
Liechtenstein finally brought her head back up when she realized that not only was Romania not acting like he was weirded out, he was reacted positively. Iceland had been hard enough for her to get over, and she didn’t know if she could ever handle having to go through that with Romania, but his reaction was such a relief for her. She hadn’t even noticed the specific words he picked; she was much too relieved that he didn’t push her away.
She gasped loudly as Romania began tickling her. She squirmed and giggled and tried desperately to escape from his grasp. Tears once again pricked at her eyes, although for a much different reason. “I-I do! I-I!…” She hadn’t even realized what she said; she was far too concentrated and trying to wriggle out of his arms to actually hear herself talk.
“Of course you can call me Dragomir…” He felt like telling her that she can call him whatever she wanted, but felt that would be a tad inappropriate. He liked it when she did, it made him feel that they weren’t at work. They were friends, and maybe something more. Cringing when she started freaking out again, he made a mental note to yell at the friend who gave him the idea of confronting her. He didn’t mind in the slightest, even if it was pretty early to have those feelings. He knew that she was worried and scared, and probably didn’t know at the time. Now he was scared. What if she did like him? He liked her too, but didn’t want to rush into things. What if she wasn’t? The Romanian didn’t want to feel rejected and would probably feel lonely again.Frowning, Dragomir touched her cheek to wipe the tears away. “Don’t cry, Lilli…” he hesitated, “You don’t have to answer, it was dumb of me to ask.”
Liechtenstein let go of Romania’s hand, staring intently at it before looking back at him. In a flash, she latched onto him and buried her head into his chest, trying her hardest not to start sobbing. “I-it wasn’t… it wasn’t dumb…” she mumbled into his shirt, her fingers entwining themselves into the fabric. She was still recovering from what happened with Iceland, but there really was no turning back now. She had always been a terrible liar, after all. “I-I… I was really obvious, wasn’t I? O-on some level, I probably knew what those flowers meant…” Liechtenstein’s voice was muffled, but it was still comprehensible.
She knew she should probably let go of him, but she also couldn’t bear to look at Romania’s face. “I-I don’t want you to hate me…”
